Roles and Responsibilites - Indian Cricket League (ICL)

So what does ICL Board do? The Previous post was all about the ICL Executive board members, what ICL has also done is it clearly defines the role of the board which certainly is not seen or communicated if there is any by BCCI.

Here are the list of the "roles and responsibilities of ICL Board"

• Creating and validating the format of the ICL
• Recruiting professional talent from around the world to play in the ICL
• Identifying young potential through an extensive discovery process
• Identifying and appointing coaches and managers for each of the six ICL teams
• Enlisting match referees, umpires and scorers for the ICL tournaments
• Coordinating with curators and tournament directors for match-related activities.
• Draft the pool of talent identified and recruited into the six ICL teams on a systematic basis
• Creating innovations that will revolutionize cricket

The ICL team has four main pillars! as it called with clear definitions of roles and activities for all.

1.) ICL Executive Board: Headed by Kapil Dev (Board Members - More info), The Executive Board plays an important role in creating, managing and running of the Indian Cricket League.

2.) Talent Scouts: The Talent Scouts take pain in going to different parts of the country and searching for the best players to represent the ICL. Their role is very crucial since the players are the ones who can make or break the game and thus selecting the best talent is a key task which is thoughtfully done by the Indian Cricket League�s Talent Scouts.

3.)and 4.) Coaches and Players: Once the Talent Scouts select the players, these players will then be sent for net practice and training under the Coaches. There are Physiotherapists and Dieticians who will be there to guide the players with the right regimen of diet and exercises, thus helping them excel in cricketer.

ICL Executive Board Members

The Board of Executives - Indian Cricket League

The recently formed Indian Cricket league (ICL) has one of the most experienced set of people heading and taking over the Executive Board. The best part about the the ICL Exec board is, it's role is "clearly" defined by ICL which makes the process very transparent.


The ICL is headed by Kapil Dev who is the only Wisden Award winner and the only Indian Captain to win the world cup. He's one of the finest all rounders indian cricket has ever produced and his contributions to Indian cricket has been enormous. His experience and expertise will help build a strong platform for ICL.

Other ICL Board members include:

Kiran More:Kiran More was the Indian wicketkeeper from 1984 to 1993. More will be remembered for his fiercely competitive streak that garnered 130 dismissals and 1285 runs in 49 Tests. He still holds the Test records for most stumpings in an innings (five) and in a match (six).

Dean Jones: One of the most successful batsman of Australia, known for his aggresive batting against fast bowlers. He played a new game in which he walked down the pitch to fast bowlers, ran frenetically between wickets and turned outfielding into an attacking occupation. He was a natural showman who was for a while as popular as any other player in Australia.Jones was a significant part of the team's revival, playing in the '87 World Cup and '89 Ashes wins.

Tony Greig:Former English test cricketer and currently a commentator. He was an all-rounder who bowled both medium pace and off spin. He became captain of the national side from 1975 to 1977, and was also captain of the Sussex county side.



This unique combination with their years of experience will certainly help ICL become the best.
